With the help of a special probe, which emits and receives the ultrasound waves,the brain-supplying vessels as well as arteries and veins of the legs and arms can be depicted. The blood flow in the vessels can also be measured by means of doppler ultrasound examination. The changes in the vessel walls, calcifications and thromboses can be early detected and evaluated.
